My reaction when drinking the first sip of this smoothie was “but this tastes like carrot cake!” And it really did! In addition to being packed with vitamin C, this smoothie really felt like a liquid piece of cake, but a healthy one of course! During winter, we all struggle to keep a reasonable intake of vitamins and strengthen our immune system. Spices like ginger and cinnamon will help you do just that. It’s the best medicine you can treat your body with!
Because some of the ingredients for this smoothie are solid (like carrots) and nobody likes to chew their drinks, I would recommend using a juicer or simply buy a good quality carrot juice to replace carrots. Plus, it might save you a little bit of time!
Serving: 2 glasses of smoothie
Total time: 15 minutes
– 1 ripe banana
– 1 persimmon
– 1 peeled carrot (or 1 cup carrot juice)
– the juice of 2 fresh and organic oranges
– ½ cup almond milk
– ½ tsp ground cinnamon
– ½ tsp ground ginger
– 1 tsp maple syrup
– 1 handful slivered almonds for topping
– 2 sliced guavas (optional)
Start by removing the leafy stem from the persimmon and unwrap the banana.
Wash and cut all the fruits and veggies into smaller chunks.
Pour all the ingredients into your kitchen blender and mix until smooth.
Pour the smoothie into glasses and decorate with slivered almonds, sliced guavas or pomegranate seeds!
