Cocooning Turmeric Vegan Latte

Nothing is too spicy to make these fall days brighter to me. Well except for real spicy Indian food that I can barely stand (I become so red in the face that it looks like I just got the first sunburn of my life 🙂 ). You will love this homemade vegan latte if you: 1) decided to boycott Startbucks for a while (even if you know deep down this is not going to last in the long run), 2) need one cup of latte a day and 3) love everything spicy.

On a rainy afternoon a few days ago, I decided that I needed a warm comfort drink. But I wanted something different than the regular earl grey with a drop of almond milk and maple syrup (still delicious though). So I’ve searched for turmeric latte recipes online and combined a few together + I’ve made it vegan. And here is the result! Enjoy and tell me how it spiced up your day!

Ingredients:

– 1 tsp turmeric powder

– 1 tsp ground cinnamon

– 1 tsp ground ginger

– 2 tsp liquid honey

– 1 ½ cup water

– 1 ½ cup almond milk

Directions:

In a saucepan, heat the water and the almond milk over medium heat until it starts simmering. Pour the spices and the honey into the saucepan and keep stirring with a wooden spoon for a few minutes to get a smooth texture and to avoid the spices to stick to the bottom of your saucepan (not funny to clean up!).

Serve in 2 mugs and enjoy with a slice of carrot cake or vegan chocolate cake!
