A few years ago, we decided to spend a week near Verbania on the shore of Lake Maggiore, in Northern Italy. I have a passion for this country – including the food and the language – that I can’t describe. I wish I were Italian sometimes and that my home would be an old villa lost somewhere in Tuscany…There is so much beauty in Italy, I might well establish myself there one day.
This dress was found in the cutest shop in Verbania and I remember that it was slightly too big for me. I was hesitating because the pattern with the embroided flowers looked so good, I was almost ready to have it tailored. And that’s when the Italian saleswomen gave me a great tip that I instantly added at the top of my fashion rules list. If it’s slightly to big and you’re travel size just like me, pick a nice belt to highlight the waist! The dress is more fitted and looks more classy with this leather wrap belt, which I have been using for other dresses when the waist was not highlighted enough to my taste.
